Reflex Foam Mattress Our Reflex Foam futon mattress uses x2 layer of Rebound Polyester and x4 layer of High Density foam an optimum combination that will ensure consistant shape retention over many years regular use. This mattress will have a long life and looks neat in a contemporary style, although costing a little more money satisfaction is guaranteed. The main properties of Rebound Polyester are durability and longevity. In contrast, regular polyester is initially soft and feels like sitting on a cloud, it’s really “plump” but those attributes are short lived and sooner or later it will refuse to spring back to its original shape.  I think we’ve all been drawn in by the big fat cushions that are now flat and heavy after a couple of years of constant use. Most polyester is a hollow fibre but Rebound Polyester is pre compressed and will act in the same way over a very long period using the recovery properties that are inherent in the fibre, much like a shock absorber in a car. High density foam is used in mattresses because of its ability to support weight and recover quickly from compression.  The open cell structure of H.D.Foam reacts to body heat and weight by “moulding” itself to the shape of your body and in turn is able to relieve pressure points. This kind of foam is more resistant to mildew and house dust mite and can help reduce the incidence of asthma attacks. The quality of this filling in part explains why it is more expensive than other fillings. The Reflex Foam futon mattress is most suitable for 2 seater frames such as the Pankor or Studio. Ties are part of the futon mattress casing to prevent any movement when sitting on the frame in its sofa position.
